Re: Predestination
God knows all so are we already locked in a path or does God allow us open space to change our hearts? my post "omnipotence and omniscience are not contradictions" answers this very point, on this board just postdates down, her is the article to which it refers: https://metacrock.blogspot.com/2019/...

Modern science's rejection of God is ideological.
Moern physicists no longer understand laws of physics as prescriptive injunctions that determine what the universe does. Now they see them as just descriptions of how the universe seems to behave. Is their rejection of law just a desire to get the law maker (God) out of the picture? That is abundant...

Re: Tillich and deep strictires
But there are also things like possibility, potentiality, becoming, negation. YOu could argue that in God all potential is already realized, but then you'd have to come up with a way of explaining a world of becoming, change and imperfection vis a vis God.What would God's relation to this world be ...

Re: Tillich and deep strictires
I tend to think of God as transcending being. If it is a distinction that we can conceive of, namely, being/not being, then I would think that God is probably beyond it somehow, even if we cannot think it without the copula "is." As far as Tillich goes, I have trouble seeing how God can ground some...

atheist claim of no evidence for God
href="https://metacrock.blogspot.com/2019/02/atheists-claim-of-no-evidence.html The atheists have been fired up repeating their mantra "there's not a shred of evidence for God." There are times when I find that annoying and times when I find it amusing. The reason for either reaction is because all...

Tillich and deep strictires
https://metacrock.blogspot.com/2019/01/paul-tillichs-ontology-deep-structures.html That being has depth is a clue to the meaning of “the ground of being,” or “being itself.” The depth of being is also related to the notion of the “power of being.” These are all saying the same thing or very closely...

God makes life meaningful can man bestow his own meaning without God?
https://metacrock.blogspot.com/2019/01/god-bestows-meaning.html Jason Thibodeau [secular outpost] writes a long article, "Can Humans Create Meaning? Can God?" [1] I will concern myself with only a small part of the article, the argument that God cannot create meaning. Jason argues: "The conception ...
