I'm not sure what you're talking about, Meta. Can you please give some context? For example, you refer to "they" and "atheists," yet I still have no clue who "they" are and what "atheists" you're talking about.

Re: The meaning and purpose of the names of YHWH

Jesus was a person. A nice person with a lot of insights that were helpful during his time. Some of those insights are still helpful, but, overall, Jesus remains simply an interesting historical person, and that's all.

Re: Utter silliness in atheist arguments

Hermit is blowing it all out proportion. I actually like the guy. I don't want to insult and what I said about him wasn't' that bad. I said I don't know if he's sincere and he truns that into some kind of major charter assassination. This is exactly why I wonder about his sincerer. What's he doing ...

Re: The Qur'an, is it the "literal speech of Allah"?

No. You're putting words into my mouth. If you read the pertinent text in this thread and the first link you can see the arguments I said are in the Quran. They are not in the form you proposed there. I'm not putting words in your mouth. I'm summing up what I perceive your position to be. First of ...

Re: Utter silliness in atheist arguments

I do have to wonder if the insults that are typed up on this board, and the horrible assumptions about other's characters, would be stated in a face-to-face conversation. If you can honestly answer "no", or have even the slightest bit of anxiety at the prospect, then perhaps writing them in here is ...

Re: The Qur'an, is it the "literal speech of Allah"?

he didn't represent my position properly. I said the arguments are given in the Quran. The proof is in your mind. So you believe it because the Qu'ran says it. And because the Qu'ran says it, you believe it. What are your external verifications? I mean, even infants seek external verification (I ha...

Re: The Qur'an, is it the "literal speech of Allah"?

It is possible, he believes, to show that the Qur'an really is the "literal speech of Allah," by the use of certain valid arguments that can be found within the pages of the Qur'an itself. This is circular reasoning, and in this case invalid. One cannot reasonably assume that their reference source...
