Re: so called "Oivet" discourse

I think you'd better define what you actually think, because "honest mistake by non-omniscient guy" contr...

Re: Boehner kind of gives in.

Awww, he managed to hang on by his fingernails. I was hoping they'd choose someone more colorful, like Donald Trump or a rabid dog.

Re: so called "Oivet" discourse

There is no contradiction between "it's coming soon, very soon - some of you will be alive when it happens" and "no one knows the hour or day".

Re: Climate Change

Does it discuss that Anthony Watts guy who claims that temperature sensing stations are situated badly, and get influenced by urban heat islands, nearby asphalt etc? Climate scientists redid their calculations using onl...

Re: Life of Pi

Did you see Prometheus? Horrible movie in many ways, a total mess, but there were some great and similar ideas in there fighting to get out - like Elizabeth Shaw and her father's "that's what I choose to believe". This actually carries on a theme from Blade Runner, about perception creating reality...

Re: Life of Pi

Indeed, if I may summarize the message (poorly), it suggests that faith is choosing to believe a better story than a rather nasty andf brutish alternative. Oddly enough, I find that the film actually supports atheism, if you're a person who believes that the atheist narrative has a tiger in it :) I...

Re: so called "Oivet" discourse

Sorry for not replying sooner... I've been meaning to but every time I log in the phone rings or my kid cries or something else calls me away. My main objection to your redaction mixup scenario is that the imminent apocalypticism isn't limited to the Olivet discourse - it runs all through the NT. Fo...
