Re: Egerton's relationship to the Synoptics
Hey, Joe. Despite what you may think, and despite my often-disagreement, I do appreciate your insights where they intercept my interests. To that end... I've noticed Egerton shares some readings with not only Jn, but also Mk ant Mt. How do you think we should interpret this seemingly literary relat...

Re: How Many Here Were Created For Hell?
Nothing set in brimstone, but I rather do think there is such a place. I'm not opposed to finding out differently, but until I do, put me down for a believer. I tend to be the rather annoying literalist about the Bible but I'm not KJV only and I wouldn't even be shocked and hang myself if there wer...

Re: God, perfection, good and evil
That's true. But Abraham didn't go below 5. Now we are forever left hanging wondering if God would have spared it for 4,3,2 or 1. Abraham's limit was 5 but God's? Hmmmn... And without getting labeled as homophobic or gay, there were many other issues with the city than just sexual sins. If you read...

I'm Kristen Rosser. I've decided to register here, but to use a username I use on other boards. :) For the record, it wasn’t because of VisualFiction’s insults, per se, that I left “Sense of the Numinous.” It was because one of the moderators told me it was the policy of that forum to permit this k...

Re: meta's metaphor search. {g}
God is so far above us we should try to think of God as the dialectic or something. Even the other images you borrowed from the Bible are not abstractions like "dialectic", though. Besides, isn't dialectic a description of interpersonal relationship? {s!} NO I don't think so. It's a form of logic r...

Re: Argument I co-determinate
AT the heart of all religious belief and all organized religions is experience and the sense of the numinous. This is the foundation of religious belief. The main problem here is that the generalization is too sweeping, I think. My own religious beliefs aren't currently founded on a sense of the nu...

Re: How Many Here Were Created For Hell?
both you guys, welcome. you are welcome to post here. I never believed in ranking posters. everyone is on an equal plain in terms of privileges to post.
I don't believe in hell. I feel that the Bible doesn't actually teach that hell is a place of eternal conscious torment. what do you think?
