Jokes
we had a bunch of jokes on SON, the old board. But I dont' want this to be nothing more than a joke board. I want this to be a place where we can talk about anything that makes us feel good. I'll start off with a couple of jokes. a guy comes into a bar and sees a cowbirl drinking three beers at the ...

Re: Additional forum(s)?
I don't know if an Eastern Board will count for much unless we get other people posting here who are genuinely interested in exploring Dharmic or Taoist traditions. On the other hand I think it might help to keep a board explicitly about "God". Maybe as far as adding a new board about religion/spir...

Re: Additional forum(s)?
There were changes made in going from Have Theology, Will Argue to Sense of the Numinous because of a desired change in tone. Part of the motivation was the idea of having a forum for discussing faith, grace, and experiences of the numinous without specifically invoking any construct or tradition i...

Re: Rabbi Moshe Alshekh
Hello I saw this quoted on your site "Rabbi Moshe Alshekh (El-Sheikh) of Sefad (16th c.) I may remark, then, that our Rabbis with one voice accept and affirm the opinion that the prophet is speaking of the King Messiah, and we ourselves also adhere to the same view. -- Driver and Neubauer, p. 258. ...

Re: God, perfection, good and evil
Why can’t it be that God didn’t know how they would treat angelic beings, so he sent a couple? From Lot’s rather bizarre offer of his daughters, I would think,( and yes, I know thinking is risky, in some forums, prohibited) that he knew these were at the very least, messengers from God, if it was n...

Re: TO OPEN
I think its that though we were made in God's image, Unred, we have a tendency to think of God as being in our image. We put God in a box; we limit Him to our conceptions of Him. We are like God in certain ways, but God is beyond us, beyond our full grasp and understanding. Still, I think it please...
