Asherah certainly wasn't the only goddess (or god) who was worshiped along with YHWH by the Israelites. One of the main themes of the metanarrative of the Scriptures is God's struggles to get the nation of Israel to become monotheistic.
The discovery of the archeological evidence is interesting, but it's not like it tells a careful reader of the OT anything she didn't already know.
