Please let us know how he is now. I left a message on his phone. Really would like to hear that he is on the mend.

I went to see him today. The nurse said he's doing better and will be moved to a nursing home tomorrow -- I don't know which one yet. She said he was lethargic today, didn't have a very good night the previous night. He still can't talk because of the breathing apparatus. I relayed all of your well wishes and concern. He did know who I was and the nurse said he definitely knew what I was telling him. She seemed optimistic.

Good to hear! How are the kidneys doing? Does he need dialysis?
One of the hallmarks of freedom is that when you recognize someone is being intellectually dishonest or arguing with you in bad faith, you have the option to walk away without being punished, imprisoned or tortured.

This is very good news. I look forward to speaking with him on the phone, being that I'm so far away. And.... dialoguing with him here. do continue to let him know that there are many well wishers praying for him and hoping to hear from him soon.

I don't know for sure, but I don't think the kidneys are a problem right now. It's more the effects of the bacterial pneumonia and the gangrene. Nurses at the ICu are very rushed and don't have time to talk for more than a few seconds at a time.

I got a voicemail from Ann, Joe's sister. She said he's back at the rehab center. He's doing better and can breathe on his own but he can't swallow, so they have a "track" (?) down his throat for that. I left a message for her to call me back and I'll try to get up there soon to see him.
