The universe as we know it

Postby QuantumTroll on Thu Jan 21, 2010 6:32 am

Here's a really cool video that shows something about the majesty of the universe outside: http://antwrp.gsfc.nasa.gov/apod/ap100120.html

I feel privileged to be living in an age where I can just casually stumble across things like this :) . There are similarly beautiful videos filmed on more ordinary scales, showing nature's splendor as humans see it. Check out BBC's Planet Earth documentary series, for instance. And then there's computer-generated imagery like this one (http://www.studiodaily.com/main/techniq ... /6850.html) showing the fantastic microcosm that exists invisibly all around.

believe it or not. I love broccoli. You just need to know how to prepare it.

Here's something you might want to try. It's called Tandoori Stew.

Find a shop that sell pre-marinated Tandoori chicken. (Although my parents are from India, tandoori is not our normal way of cooking so I'm not really cheating).
1. Cut up tandoori chicken into bit sized peices, or cut up chicken and put in tandoor sauce bought from store.
2. Cut up lots of veggies, all kinds and toss in a big pot with some olive oil. Literally anything you can get your hands on.
3. Add tandoori chicken and some basil and cook for a while, about 5-7 minutes or until most of the chicken is cooked.
4. Add about 2 cups of water
5. Simmer for about 20 minutes.
6. Serve on brown rice (okay, white rice if you like that stuff!)
7. You can add yogurt when you're eating it, or just go with it the way it is.

I don't like to cook my veggies too long before adding the tandoori chicken because it keeps the veggies from dissolving. I love things like red pepper and zucchini in it. Yeah, like red onions, carrots, turnips - anything. However, I've not tried cuccumber. Hmmmm. Celery, yes. Broccoli always absorbs the flavour, so in this case it wouldn't cool the affect. Only when you're eating it steamed along side.
Time taken to breathe is time taken for peace.
