TGIF!

Yeah, I'm telling you - TFGIF!!!

Working in the signage industry has got to be the most difficult thing I've done. Mostly because processes are just so --- scattered and unknown is always in the forefront. Wearing a zillion hats as it's a small company.

Interesting? Maybe. Frustrating? Definitely.

(sign sign everywhere a sign, blocking up the scenery breaking my mind, do this don't do that can't your read the sign!)

But yeah, THANK GOD IT'S FRIDAY! Got a pizza and greek salad ordered. Yes, remains of a bottle of red wine.

Met said you're kind of making a signifier joke. (sure, okay) :B

I make all sorts of signs. Both meaningful ones and meaningless ones.
Channel letter, LED lightbox, indoor, out door, window graphics.
Riding home on the bus is a nightmare because I see the damn things everywhere.
An employment counselor thought I'd be good at this 'because I'm so visual.'
As far as I'm concerned we're manufacturing crap - visual noise.
Would Van Gogh would have enjoyed this?

Endless River, thanks for those. Yes, there are signs that are art, for sure! And I have to say that our company prides itself on making some pretty nice stuff, if people are willing to go that way. We don't like to do crap. So, I have some pride. What gets me is that I live in a city where everyone undercuts the competitor, so people coming to our company don't really seem to know what they are getting.

However, as we are getting our work out there, and people are hearing about our work - ie: a good reputation, it's all coming coming back. When you explain what they are getting, and the workmanship, they get it. You can always go down the street and have someone do a cheap job that will fall off sooner, or the design is crap.
