I am very pleased with the new pope, though I note that he has made it clear that women in the priesthood is still out of the question. All the more reason to be a Protestant, in my mind. :D

He's pretty cool. I agree I'm a Protestant and I have certain biases that keep me in the Protestants no matter how I admire Catholics. The Hierarchy is one of them.

One of the hallmarks of freedom is that when you recognize someone is being intellectually dishonest or arguing with you in bad faith, you have the option to walk away without being punished, imprisoned or tortured.

As popes go, he's pretty amazing. Female priests are next! Cats marrying dogs! Maybe he'll start small with female altar attendants.
