What is considered idolatry ?

Discuss either theological doctrines, ideas about God, or Biblical criticism. I don't want any debates about creation vs evolution.

I had a talk but what is considered pagan worship? I mean our calendar and days are pagan backgrounds. I mean does one accidentally worship pagan gods?

Idolatry is not just about pagan religion,The idea of setting up a stone to represent God and worshiping the stone is a metaphor for the actual sin which is allowing some material thing to come between you and God, or setting up a material thing as diviner, One can allow money to be an idol if one neglects God to peruse riches for example.
