why atheism wont replace religion

Discuss arguments for existence of God and faith in general. Any aspect of any orientation toward religion/spirituality, as long as it is based upon a positive open to other people attitude.

why atheism wont replace religion

(1) God on the brain: brain responds to God talk because our "wiring" (to put it in layman's terms) is set to acknowledge God. (see the book Why God wont Go Away by Andrew Newberg)

(2) 200 empirical studies in academic journals document that people who have religious experiences are less likely to be depressed or have mental problems. Such experiences fix one up in a variety of ways.

(3) Religion is a basic staple of human psyche like the need to be creative or produce art.
