The black box metaphor is not appropriate to use in relation to God. The one thing we know abort what's in the black box it is bounded by the box. God is the unbounded condition. There's another metaphor used to illustrate the value of apophatic theology or "negative " theology . The hole in the donut. cannot be described but I can describe the do nut around it. By saying what it's not you get a picture of what it is.\
God is beyond our understanding but metaphors bridge the gape between known an d unknown. All religious language is analogical .The point is to experience God not to make words on paper.
