I like your OP.

I'd also like for you to speak a little about where you see reason/rationality/logic coming into your thinking about distinguishing between exclusionary scientism vs. exclusionary philosophy.

Also, would you care to speak a little about where you see volition enter into the fray.

Thanks.

back to square one. I have 42 argumetns that prove it to me. you wont accept them because you take issue with the method. the only method you allow is scinece, scinece isn't going to find God even if God is real.

God has to be beyond the level of empiricism by the nature of being God. you can't have empirical proof of empiricism. you can't have empirical proof of reality.

so you want to do a bait and switch, my use of a method that doesn't give you control over my finds then becomes "refusal to shoulder the responsibility."

I've told you several different ways to know that God is real. you don't want any of them because you don't want God to be real. [/quote]

Thank you for that link Meta - it's excellent! As someone who has had many, many transcendent experiences, several of them resulting in physical healing, That's the way I know God, not through dogma, words in a book or creeds.

The pure core of science is absolute Truth and the pure core of religion is unconditional Love. At some time in the future they will be seen to be one and the same. I am more interested in the power of ideas rather than the forces of matter. Physicists are starting to realize that matter is a lot less substantial than it appears, but, well, that's too new and controversial and difficult to fathom for Newtonian scientists.. A physicist I know has said a few times that he reckons there's an interesting clash coming within the scientific community, when the implications of the new physics finally get through to the life sciences.

Blessings,

Verity

Now, as far as him going off on a tangenty against posters and calling them ignorant, that is a completely different matter, and I think a sign of insecurity, perhaps due to being picked on as a child. The man says he has dyslexia. I say leave it go at that. Spelling isn't a sign of intelligence. I've seen many who don't know the difference between your and you're, and some of those aren't stupid. I've seen a president who thought god favored the U.S., and he wasn't stupid.
